Bringing the Chalutzic Idea to the GA
At the end of November 5 members of Dror Israel flew to the Jewish Federations of North America's General Assembly (GA).
At the end of the conference, Roei Tau wrote:
"This was the fifth time I've participated in the GA of the Jewish Federations of North America.
I look forward to this gathering, which is an opportunity to meet many people and partners from North America.
At the GA, questions were raised regarding North American Jewry's agenda: the connection to Israel, engagement of the younger generation, Jewish continuity, and challenges posed by the current American administration. It's really important for Israeli’s to learn more about the questions facing American Jews in order to strengthen our partnership and strengthen the Jewish people.
I told people the story of Dror Israel and of the educators' community in Akko. Many people identified with our goals and vision. The establishment of the new Educators' Kibbutz in Akko helped people identify with Israeli society and gave them renewed hope.
