Hannukah Of the Educators' Kibbutz

How wonderful it was to celebrate Hannukah, the festival of light, by dedicating our new building of the Akko Educators' Kibbutz. After 13 years of living in Akko, we got to build this beautiful home and invite so many of our friends in the community to celebrate with us.

We were honored by the Mayor of Akko Mr. Shimon Lankri, The city's Rabbi Yosef Yashar, Imam Sheikh Samir A'asi, Sefton Bergson of the UJIA and Tomer Abudi the director of Educators' Kibbutzim in ror Israel, together with many others who we could not have done this without.

The evening included a presentation of our work throughout the years, candle lightening and, of course, delicious food.

There is still a long way ahead of us and much to be done.

We are still campaigning for the completion of this acquisition and as educators we know that there's always more to be achieved and aspire to. Yet we are closer to our goal than ever and we feel there's a reason for pride and celeration.

In the words of the MC for the evening Mirit Suleima: May this house of ours be full of light, love and good deeds. Let our community be a part of a rich mosaic of people of different cultures, a home of equality and peace.

Chag Sameach!
