    Remembering the Holocaust, Rebelling Against Injustice, Restoring Hope in the Future

    On Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) this year we marked the 75th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. For the past six years, Dror Israel’s “Rebellion of Hope” initiative has been teaching that we remember the past for the sake of the future. We “rebel” against injustice in the world and within the Jewish people. And we insist on the “hope” of building a better society. We create living memory for the here and now.     The Holocaust Memorial Day

    In May, Tal Valentine, a member of the Akko Educators' kibbutz, gathered together a team of seven members to plan and coordinate an experiential exhibition about the story of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising for the Akko residents. Later on, this team trained all 60 of the Akko Educators' Kibbutz teachers and educators' to lead this exhibition. Over three days, some 700 Jewish and Arab local residents and students visited the exhibition, which emphasizes on the story of the Warsaw
