Home Away From Home: A Visit to Our Friends and Partners on the West Coast

Between the 14th and 26th of February, Zohar Avigdori and Roei Tau visited the West Coast of the US, where they spent time with friends and partners of the Akko Educators’ Kibbutz from the Jewish communities of the East Bay, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County and Seattle. Roei and Zohar set out with the goal of bringing the campaign to purchase a permanent building for the Akko Educators’ Kibbutz closer to the end zone. The project is now funded 95% to completion with

Lights unto the Nation: Akko Kibbutz Hosts Australian High School Students

This month we strengthened our connections with Jewish communities oversees when we were graced by visits from two groups of Australian High School students from Sydney and Melbourne who visited Israel over the course of the winter (Southern Hemisphere summer) in between tenth and eleventh grade. Hannukah Of the Educators' Kibbutz

How wonderful it was to celebrate Hannukah, the festival of light, by dedicating our new building of the Akko Educators' Kibbutz. After 13 years of living in Akko, we got to build this beautiful home and invite so many of our friends in the community to celebrate with us. We were honored by the Mayor of Akko Mr. Shimon Lankri, The city's Rabbi Yosef Yashar, Imam Sheikh Samir A'asi, Sefton Bergson of the UJIA and Tomer Abudi the director of Educators' Kibbutzim in ror Israel,

We couldn’t be more excited to have recently completed the move into our new building in the heart of Akko. In the next months we will be sending delegations to the US and UK to continue our endeavor to finalize our financial obligations in the acquisition of the building. We are thrilled to announce that we will be holding a dedication ceremony on December 3rd, which will be attended by the Mayor of Akko as well as our friends and partners from the city, from Israel, and fro

Akko’s Young Volunteers Meet for Roundtable Discussions

One of the highlights of the Remembrance Tent this year was a special event we held at the Educators’ Kibbutz building for nearly a hundred 18-year-olds who are living and volunteering in Akko for a year before their military service. These young men and women come from all over Israel to dedicate a year of their lives to living together, learning and giving back to the community before they enlist. We brought together participants from a range of different frameworks to enga
